“Don’t Give Up on the Person You’re Becoming”

There’s something about the quote, “Don’t give up on the person you’re becoming,” that hits differently when you’re in a season of change. Not the exciting, glamorous kind of change that everyone celebrates online… I’m talking about the quiet kind. The kind where you’re trying your best to hold yourself together while slowly rebuilding parts of your life, your confidence, your habits and maybe even your identity.

I think a lot of us underestimate how exhausting growth can be sometimes.

We see the “glow” on other people and forget that before the glow came the confusion, the setbacks, the crying, the healing, the loneliness, the lessons and the moments where they probably wanted to quit too.

Becoming our best selves is a process, not a one-day transformation.

🧳 Unpack

Let’s really sit with the quote for a second:

“Don’t give up on the person you’re becoming.”

To me, this means giving yourself permission to evolve without rushing the process.

Sometimes we become frustrated because we’re comparing who we are today to who we want to be tomorrow. We want the confidence now. The peace now. The success now. The healed version of ourselves now.

But real growth rarely happens overnight.

Sometimes becoming a better version of yourself looks very ordinary. It looks like waking up and trying again. It looks like saying no to things that drain you. It looks like finally choosing yourself after years of putting everyone else first. It looks like resting when you’re tired instead of forcing yourself to keep pouring from an empty cup.

In all honesty, that version of growth deserves more credit.

There are seasons where you may feel stuck because your progress isn’t visible yet; but just because something is growing slowly doesn’t mean it isn’t growing.

A flower doesn’t bloom the same day the seed is planted.

🌱 Grow

I think one of the hardest parts about personal growth is that nobody really talks about how uncomfortable it can feel.

Growth requires change.

Change requires letting go.

And letting go can feel emotional even when it’s necessary.

Sometimes you outgrow people.

Sometimes you outgrow old habits.

Sometimes you outgrow the version of yourself that settled for less than you deserved.

And while that’s beautiful, it can also feel lonely at times.

Every decision you make to improve your life matters more than you realize.

Every time you choose discipline over excuses…

Every time you protect your peace…

Every time you pour into your mental health…

Every time you try again after disappointment…

You are becoming.

That’s the part we have to remember.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to still be growing. You don’t need to be perfect to be making progress. Some days growth looks productive and inspiring and other days it simply looks like surviving a hard moment without giving up on yourself… and that still counts.

✨ Glow

The beautiful thing about growth is that eventually it begins to show. Not just physically but emotionally, mentally, spiritually and energetically too.

You start handling situations differently.

You stop begging for things that aren’t aligned with you.

You become softer with yourself.

Wiser.

Calmer.

More confident.

Your glow becomes less about appearance and more about peace.

I think that’s the most beautiful kind of transformation.

The truth is, the person you’re becoming may already be making you proud in ways you haven’t stopped to notice yet. Maybe you’re stronger than you were a year ago. Maybe your mindset is healthier. Maybe you finally started believing you deserve better. That matters.

So if you’re in a season where you feel tired, discouraged, or unsure of yourself, let this be your reminder: Don’t give up now.

The version of you that you’ve been praying for, healing for and growing toward still deserves a chance to exist.

One day, you’re going to look back and realize that all those small moments where you kept going anyway were the exact moments that changed your life.
